Purchasing Information
To make a purchase simply click on the item you require and add it to the shopping basket.
Once you have completed your purchases you can proceed to the checkout and complete the payment and delivery fields.
Our online ordering system uses a secure server provided by Lloyds TSB Cardnet and Sagepay to protect your card details.
When we receive your order and payment via Sagepay we will send an email to confirm that we have received it and the estimated delivery date. We will endeavour to meet this date but cannot be held responsible for delayed delivery which may be outside our control.
Trade Sales
Vision Enhancers are happy to accept trade sales. For more information on purchasing as a trade customer please email trade@visionenhancers.co.uk or call 0800 112 3691.
To apply for a trade account with Vision Enhancers the attached Trade Application Form can be downloaded. (Click here to download Trade Application Form). Once completed it should be returned to Vision Enhancers Ltd, PO Box 548, Stockbridge, SO20 6WJ. When your account has been opened you will be notified by email with your username and password to enable you to log in to your account and place your orders online at a time convenient to you.
Payments
- Payment must be made in full at time of ordering.
- We accept credit and debit card payments online by Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Maestro and Solo and by phone, fax and post and can accept cheques by post.
- Please allow 7 working days from the date of your order for delivery.
- Online payments can only be accepted for orders in the UK
- Prices are given in £ sterling and VAT is included in all orders unless a signed VAT exemption form is received. You must indicate at time of order by ticking the box that you are eligible for zero-rate VAT and complete and return by post or email the form which can be found on the website. See VAT Relief Form.
- Online payments cannot be accepted for orders outside the UK.
- For orders outside the UK you may be liable for local or importation tax.
- To protect the security of your card number, our payments are processed using the payment service provider Sagepay, to provide a secure environment to handle card payments. Your card details will not be passed to us but will be handled by Sagepay who have achieved the highest level of compliance under the Payment Card Industry Security Standard (PCI). The latest encryption technology is used to enable secure transfer of your personal data over the Internet and they adhere to the most stringent levels of fraud screening, ensuring that your details remain secure throughout the transaction process.
Delivery
- Delivery charge for all standard UK orders £3.25 plus VAT to cover postage and packaging except Electronic Magnifiers, Lighting and other heavy items including some mulitple product shipments.
- The shipping charges for Electronic Magnifiers for small products £10 plus VAT, the OPTi Verso £15 plus VAT and large products £20 plus VAT. Delivery charge for all Lighting products is £10.00 plus VAT. Delivery costs for other heavy items will depend on weight and be between £4.99 and £10.00 plus VAT. Cost of delivery will be displayed at point of checkout.
- Delivery will be charged at cost for orders outside the UK.
- For orders outside the UK, customers are responsible for any import duties which may be due in their country of residence.
- Goods despatched under the Articles for the Blind scheme in the UK will be exempt from the delivery charge and will be charged £1.60 plus VAT to cover packaging costs only. Please indicate eligibility at time of ordering. Eligibility guidelines - If you need spectacles for close vision of N12 or less i.e. reading newspaper headlines and text smaller than this or are registered blind or partially sighted you qualify for this scheme.
- Orders which are subject to zero-rate VAT where the person is registered as disabled will be held until the exemption form is received to comply with HMRC requirements.
- Vision Enhancers will endeavour to advise you of any delays to delivery and an estimate of revised delivery date. You will, of course, have the option to cancel the order and obtain a full refund should you no longer require the goods.
- You are advised to retain a copy of your transaction and relevant reference numbers in case of any query.
Exchanges and Refunds
- Vision Enhancers will be happy to exchange or refund the cost of items returned within 14 days of order date provided they are returned in resaleable condition in the original packaging.
- Customers should inform Vision Enhancers of any damaged goods on the day they are received.
- Customers will be responsible for the cost of returning goods to us at the address below. Refunds will not be processed until the returned goods have been received. For exchanged goods the standard delivery charge will be applied to re-despatch.

VAT Exemption
- Whether you are eligible for VAT exemption will be determined by the regulations from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
- HMRC states that “Customers with a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon their ability to carry out everyday activities” will be eligible for zero-rated VAT
- providing that the goods are for their personal or domestic use and
- the goods and services are eligible to be supplied at the zero rate. Low vision aids are included in the outline given under:
- spectacle mounted low vision aids which are custom made to the prescription of a qualified optician where the prescription identifies the appliance as a low vision aid; and
- other low vision aids including technical aids for reading and writing, which are designed exclusively for visually impaired people, for example, closed circuit video magnification equipment capable of magnifying text and images.
