Reading with a good light can be a help. The light needs a reflector so the light is angled to shine on the book, not into your eyes.
The light needs to be positioned so there is no glare, reflection, or shadows. If the magnifier is not internally illuminated, a reading light is usually better than a central light hanging down from the ceiling. This is like reading with daylight behind you, but not very bright like sunlight.
Generally the amount of light reflected from a viewed object is increased by 2 times when the distance from the object is halved so the nearer a light is to the object the more light is reflected.
As a guide the light can be placed at about 20 cms/7.9 inches directly above the object to be viewed. The best position for an adjustable lamp is out in front of you and shining down directly on what you want to look at.

The PL desk lamp provides a good light source which can be positioned to maximise the light for reading and writing tasks. The flexible Task Lamp comes complete with a table base, 11 watt tube, equivalent to a normal 60 watt bulb, diffuser to ensure even distribution of light and table clamp. Replacement tube available – see product order code D13622.

All smaller items (up to 7kg) are delivered for free in the UK using First Class post (Articles for the Blind) and are normally delivered in 1 to 3 days.

For larger items (such as desktop electronic magnifiers) a courier is used for delivery, which costs £10 to £20+VAT, depending on the size and weight. Delivery costs will be calculated during the checkout process before you enter any payment details

Overseas and trade deliveries are charged at cost, which will be calculated once you have entered your delivery address.
